Language & Methodology (Young Learners)

Who is this course for?

Practising teachers of English who are working with Young Learners (aged 5 - 12) who want to improve their own English language competence and learn new techniques and activities for the teaching of English. Participants should have an intermediate level of English or above (Common European Framework Level B2).

Course aims

  • To improve your competence in English, both knowledge and skills
  • To expand your range of techniques and activities for immediate use with your students
  • To help you to exploit and adapt published materials for younger learners

Course programme

The course will focus on the development of the four language skills with a particular emphasis on the key skills of listening and speaking. There will also be plenty of opportunities to widen the range of your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation. Participants will be able to experience new techniques designed to help students acquire language and discuss their effectiveness and ways of adapting them to fit in with different teaching contexts.

  • Teaching pronunciation
  • Storytelling
