Jim Scrivener
The Bell Teacher Campus academic programme is directed by Jim Scrivener, Head of Teacher Development at Bell. Jim is a well-known teacher trainer, conference speaker and author of 'Learning Teaching'.
All courses are delivered by our experienced team of trainers, who share their knowledge and expertise through a wide range of teaching techniques. Many of our trainers are also authors and conference speakers including Mary Spratt, David A Hill, Silvana Richardson and Nik Peachey.
Guest speakers
Every week a top EFL expert visits the campus to give a plenary lecture. In the last few years, guest speakers have included:
- Martin Parrott, author of 'Grammar for English Language Teachers'
- Hugh Dellar, co-author of both the 'Innovations' and 'Outcomes' series
- John Hughes, author of 'Business Result'
- Adrian Underhill, author of 'Sound Foundations: Learning and Teaching Pronunciation'
- Mike McCarthy, author of 'English Vocabulary in Use'
- Jim Scrivener, author of 'Learning Teaching' and 'Teaching English Grammar - What to Teach and How to Teach it'
- Jeremy Harmer, author of 'The Practice of English Language Teaching'.
Participants
In 2011, Bell Teacher Campus welcomed 830 teachers from 54 countries. Whether state or private school teachers, highly experienced or new to the profession, they all benefited from top-quality teaching, practical ideas and the opportunity to learn from each other.
