World Cup spelling – understanding vowels from Johanna Stirling’s blog about English spelling:

Here are some fun and useful World Cup activities to help you practise your English spelling by understanding and using vowels (a,e,i,o,u) in English words.

  • In Part A of the World Cup spelling worksheet, give each country a ‘score’ according to how many vowels it contains e.g:
    • Brazil 2
    • Argentina 4
    • Greece 3.
  • In Part B, see how many World Cup countries you can spell? Write in the vowels. Each ‘ _ ‘ is one vowel.
