Junior Pathways
The Junior Pathways programme provides a great taster of the site and facilities of the Bell Bedgebury International School. Set in 220 acres of beautiful parkland (including 3 lakes and a woodland assault course), it provides an outstanding range of activities from horse-riding and mountain-biking through to swimming and tennis.

Course programme
On a Bell Young Learner course, students learn and practise English through activities and study
tours, as well as class-based language lessons. In this way, they develop their English and
communication skills, learn about Britain, and have fun at the same time.
**additional horse riding lessons are available at £25 per lesson.
What is included in the price?
Unlike many other language centres our Young Learner course fees are all inclusive and cover:
- Tuition
- Accommodation and all meals
- Use of sports facilities and a full programme of social events and study tours
- Insurance during the course (excluding Malta)
- Transfers from and to the following designated UK airports on scheduled arrival and departure days
- London Heathrow (FREE to all sites)
- London Gatwick (FREE to all sites except Oundle)
- London Stansted (FREE to the Leys and Friends’ ONLY)
- London Luton (FREE to the Leys and Friends’ ONLY)
- Ebbsfleet Eurostar (FREE to Cobham Hall and Bedgebury ONLY)

Pocket Money
- We recommend that your child brings about £60 a week pocket money either in pounds sterling and/or travellers cheques.
- You can also send money in advance - either a sterling cheque payable to ‘The Bell Educational Trust Ltd’ or by bank transfer as follows:

- Please note that bank transfers can take up to 2 weeks and you will be liable for all bank transfer charges. Please write your child’s name and booking reference number on the transfer documents and send us a copy of the banking papers.
- Your child can also obtain cash from your bank account while they are in Britain by using a credit card. Please enquire at your bank in your own country if you wish to arrange this.
- We are unable to accept credit card payments for pocket money, or pass on money before we receive it. Because of the time taken to transfer money, we recommend that adequate funds are sent before the course starts.
Course rules
Bell has a set of rules which applies to behaviour in the schools, during trips and activities, and in accommodation.
These rules are necessary to ensure the safety and security of our young learners. By signing the Registration Form, we ask parents to accept and support these regulations.
- Students may not leave the school or be absent
from meals without permission from the Course
Director.
- Attendance at lessons and participation on trips is
compulsory.
- Students must observe the rules relating to IT
software.
- Residential students must observe bedtimes, and
silence must be maintained in dormitories after
lights out at night.
- Students are not allowed into the bedrooms
occupied by students of the opposite sex.
- Fire escapes are for emergency use only.
- Personal radios/CD players/iPods etc may only be
used in the residential houses and not in the main
school areas.
- Mobile phones must be switched off during
lessons.
- No smoking is allowed at any Bell Young Learner
centre.
- Students may not drink alcohol or have alcoholic
drinks in their possession. It is an offence for
anyone under the age of 18 years to buy alcohol in
the UK or Malta.
- Students must not possess, use or supply illegal
drugs.
- School swimming pool rules must be strictly
observed. No student may enter the pool if there
is no lifeguard present.
- Students must hand in their airline tickets,
passports and travellers’ cheques to the Course
Director for safekeeping.
- Pocket money requests should be given to
Houseparents and pocket money will be issued at
stated times.
- Students should keep all valuables safely locked
away, or hand them in to their Houseparent for
safe keeping.
- Any student who causes damage or breakages
may be charged for repairs or replacement. A £30
(UK) or €50 (Malta) refundable damage/key
deposit will be taken from the student at the start
of the course (please send sufficient money to
cover this plus pocket money).
- Any students breaking these rules, or
English/Maltese law, or persisting in serious
anti-social behaviour will be disciplined. In
serious cases students may be sent home early
with no refund of fees.
