Who is the course for?

Experienced teachers of English with an advance level of English (Language level: Common European Framework Level C1) working with secondary or adult students.

Course aims

  • To examine current developments in teaching methodology for integrating literature and language teaching
  • To critically evaluate a range of literary materials for exploitation in the classroom and to prepare appropriate tasks

Course programme

The course is taught through a series of informal lectures, seminars and workshops.Topics can include:

  • Creative writing
  • Using literary texts as a teaching resource
  • Literary criticism
  • Practical classroom ideas for teaching different literary genres
  • Theatre visit
  • Examining aspects of contemporary English

EU funding

EU funding to the value of 1500 euros is available for teachers from the European Union and Associated Countries.
